Quote Day 3: Liza Minnelli

ABC FEATURE FILMS - CABARET - 1972 - Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles

Reality is something you rise above.
-Liza Minnelli

I think its important for people to remember that we get so caught up living your life that you forget that there is more to life than just the day to day. By using your mind and dreaming about better things you can project yourself to wherever you want yourself to be in life. I try to do this through my writing. No..I don’t see myself as a young girl in Scotland, but I do see myself following my dreams and my love of writing helps me to get there. The things we have in life are just things, they are possessions that we tend to forget we have and jobs that don’t pay enough and not enough time in the day to relax. But, when I write, I take myself away from the mundane, the day to day, and allow myself to dream. Liza was born from two “beautiful” Hollywood figures judy garland and vincente minnelli, and yet she was not herself considered “beautiful”. Liza was determined to rise above her reality and became an icon. She didn’t pity herself for what was said about her (although I think she is quite stunning) but she went out into the world and became an extremely well known actress. So, don’t let your day to day reality bring you down, find your dream and pursue it.
